Local Area

No matter what time of year you visit Brixham, there’s always something happening in this busy, pretty little fishing port. The summer months see Fishstock and the Brixham Regatta attract hundreds of visitors to the town, whilst regular arts and crafts markets held throughout the year offer plenty of unique shopping opportunities for both visitors and locals.

Sample the Sea

For an opportunity to sample some of the finest local seafood, cooked by top chefs, Fishstock in September is an event not to be missed!

With live music and entertainment, cooking demonstrations and plenty of fun activities for all ages, this event has all the ingredients for a great family day out.

Pirate Pranks

The world-famous Brixham Pirate Festival takes place every year around the early May Bank Holiday, and you can’t move in the streets of the town without bumping into a rascally rogue!

The event is renowned for its Mile of Pirates and Biggest Gathering of Pirates – if you’ve got an eye patch, a bandana and a ‘cutlass’ then come along and join in!

Take to the Water

As life in Brixham revolves around the water it’s no surprise to see a host of maritime events in the town. Look out for BrixFest in May, incorporating the Heritage Festival, and the Trawler Race in June, when the huge modern fishing trawlers race across the bay.

So what are you waiting for? Come to Brixham this year and be a part of some of these great local events – they’re fun for all the family!

South West Coast Path

If you are looking to take in a beautiful view on an afternoon stroll, or for a challenging hike, the South West Coast Path National Trail offer both.

The trail travels for 630 miles from Minehead in Somerset to Poole Harbour in Dorset.
